Get involved!

Arura holds a special place in the hearts and memories of countless individuals, both young and old. It always offers a wide range of unique experiences, space to develop new skills, and opportunities to create new friendships and lasting memories.

The need for good volunteers is essential, as they are the ones who create an environment that encourages every young person and allows them to explore faith. The two categories of volunteer during camp week are leaders and workers. Leaders work directly with the young people, serving as positive role models, and encouraging campers to make the most of their experience. They create an atmosphere where campers from all backgrounds, of different abilities and interests feel welcome and celebrated! Workers keep the camp running, from the serving of meal times to facilitating activities. They create an environment for leaders and campers to fully enjoy all that Arura offers. Both leaders and workers are involved in building the Arura community!

However, this doesn’t all just happen by chance! Before we get to camp there is an opportunity for individuals to plan the programme pre-Arura. Behind the scenes, there is always a huge team of dedicated individuals, from a variety of churches, who play a pivotal role in making Arura what it is. These volunteers book speakers, organise activity providers, plan trips, design publicity… There is a variety of roles that need done with something for everyone!

If you have some time that you could give to help plan Arura 2024, then get in touch. Simply fill out the expression of interest form, letting us know if you have any specific areas of interest or skills, and we’ll get you involved!

You can play a vital role in shaping Arura 2024, and helping young people to experience a life-changing summer camp!
